all about skin

IMG_6352 copySo you know how sometimes you scroll through your instagram feed and see all of this flawless, poreless skin?  I swear everyone I see on there has this glowing complexion and I’m all ‘what filter are you using to look this amazing?’ (This picture is from when I was pregnant and I’m pretty sure photoshopped by a professional!) I am someone who is crazy about skincare. As in I have tried almost every skincare line known to man from drug store brands to fancy expensive creams. Cetaphil, Cervae, Aveeno, Juice Beauty, Bliss, Josie Maran, Eminence, Estee Lauder, SK-II, LaMer to name a few. Plus a Clarisonic and the PMD. Through trying all of these many products I have found a few favorites that I love that I want to share with all of you! But really I want to hear what you guys love because I am ALWAYS up to trying new things. Like I just ordered THIS and am so excited to try it because I’ve heard amazing things. Have any of you tried it?!

But first about my skin….So I have fine skin I guess. I have freckles and a fairly clear complexion but of course have the dreaded dark spots from healing blemishes and such. I never broke out in jr high or high school. Instead I got my breakouts when I was a whopping 25 years old. Yeah it was fun. And I swear sometimes I still breakout like I’m a 14 year old when I’m actually 28 and feel like I should be past this stuff. That being said here are some of my favorite products that help me stay blemish free!

CalmSkinChamomileCleanser HR00737052641317Clear Skin Probiotic15417321k2-_18b755d3-db0e-474d-9991-dc2895724707.v2.jpg-b03e2255cd200e80b2024c59c779464c11d2750f-optim-450x4505110_facialrecoveryoil_hr

Calm Skin Chamomile Cleanser– So gentle yet effective at removing makeup for my super sensitive skin.

SK-II Essence– Balances out the PH of your skin. This is a fairly recent buy but I saw a difference immediately in the tone of my skin.

Clear Skin Probiotic Moisturizer– This makes your face tingle and feel fresh. Plus it keeps skin clear! It’s so amazing!

Facial Recover Oil– I am a huge fan of oils on your face. This one is so luxurious and makes your skin baby soft. Plus it lasts forever since you only need a few drops.

Clean & Clear spot treatment– The best spot treatment I’ve found to really kill those zits!

Honest Organic Healing Balm– I love this to give my cheeks a dewy look. Or when I’m super dry I slather it on everywhere. Beau and I share this one since it’s great for his eczema and diaper rash.

Please let me know your favorites!! Have the happiest Monday!

I notice those flawless selfies too in Instagram. I actually had photography and Digital Arts classes back in college so I can sometimes identify which one is photoshoped (especially those edited by beauty apps) and which one is really “no filter” but I have nothing against those retouched selfies. What I hate are those people who are overly using it that they already look so so different from their actual looks. Anyway, nice picks! I like SK-II and Clean & Clear 🙂

I love facial oils and serums, my fave so far is Drops of Beauty from Body Shop))
Clarisonic works miracles for me too, but recently I’ve bought black soap and mix then every other day)

I usually try to keep it simple with what I use on my face, but it’s definitely fun to mix it up a bit. Currently, I use the basic Neutrogena face wash and grapefruit scrub to clean my face. For moisturizing, I just use Cetaphil’s basic moisturizer for sensitive skin. And when that occasionally pesky pimple pops up, the Mario Badescu drying lotion is super amazing!

I love your freckles! I use my Clairsonic regularly and I don’t feel clean without it. I am still at the age where I am battling acne so I try to keep products to a minimum. I just use some Clinique moisturizer and mascara…that is all.

Agreed to what you had to say about SK-II. I saw a change in my skin too after using it.
