I’m sad to say that this boy is growing out of his red cowboy boots. Every time he wore them it made me smile. Especially paired with daisy dukes. You can tell from these pictures how rapid his mood changes lately! One second he is subdued, the next he is jumping on the bed and never happier, then it’s pouting. He gives me a run for my money on a daily basis, but it’s the best thing in the world. He will be 2 in June and I get sad every time I think about it. He is so smart and grown up, and insists on feeding himself because “I am big” he says. Yes, you are big baby boy. Too big, too fast.

The weather around here is in the 80’s right now! It won’t last too long but we are soaking it in while we can. I am a huge fitness/workout girl and I always love when I can incorporate fitness and have my baby along. Plus now that it’s warm we can be outside and run and play! We have been spending so much time at the park and on walks together and it’s just my favorite thing ever. Not a day goes by lately that he doesn’t say “park park park” and run to the door. So that’s what we’ll be doing this weekend!

Is there anything better than a baby in jeans without a shirt? Oh my sweet boy sure keeps me on my toes every day. He is constantly learning new dangerous tricks like climbing up and down the bar stools or climbing shelves in the pantry to reach a pack of m&m’s. I swear I watch him carefully but he can be sneaky! I love him so much. This age is so busy and fun and I’m loving every second of being his mom. Maybe minus the dramatic tantrums he throw from time to time 😉

a little about my better half

Since it was my Blake’s 34th birthday last week I wanted to talk a little about him. These photos are about 2 years old, but some of my very favorites I’ll always cherish. I was actually pregnant with Beau in these but it was super early so I wasn’t showing yet! For his bday we went on a date just the two of us to dinner and a movie. It was so nice to get some time together without accommodating to our little guy. Blake is my favorite person on earth. He makes me laugh every day, is the best dad to our baby, works so hard for his family, and loves us so much. I could go on about all of his great qualities. Plus he is super sweet when it comes to the things I want to do. I have so many ideas for decorating our house like Chip and Joanna, and he just shakes his head sweetly saying how we need to do these things slowly because it’s SO expensive to decorate a house. Like I said, he takes care of us and makes sure I don’t spend all our money on shiplap and antique home decor. 😉 Happy 34 years my Blake, I love you bud.

These photos have some of my favorite things together….my baby, this dress, and this towel. My new friend has a shop called mae woven with the cutest pillows, towels, and bags. When she sent us this towel I was instantly in love. I not only use it as Beau’s bath towel but it hangs in my bathroom 24/7 because it’s just so pretty. And also this dress….. you really need it. We are so happy it’s Friday over here. Blake had to go out of town this past week for work, which happens like once a year. Every single time I dread it. It’s not because I have to be a single mom for a few days, because really my baby is such a good boy for me mooooost of the time. But I just really miss HIM. So hooray for him being home and all of us back in our beds (Beau and I stayed at my parents while Blake was gone). And since Blake was gone on Sunday night I had to wait until Wednesday night to watch the season finale of The Walking Dead. Does anyone watch it? I am a HUGE fan, but this season just did nothing for me. Except for staring at Daryl Dixon I just haven’t been impressed. And the season finale was really only good the last 7 minutes of the total 90 minutes. So here’s hoping that gets better next season.

Anyway, happy weekend! We will be playing outside in the warmth.

a warmer week

This weeks weather has been so much sunnier than we’ve had in a little while so we have been enjoying playing outside. Beau is OBSESSED with being outside so much he hangs on the doors constantly begging for me to take him out. My Blake has been out of town for work the past few days which I hate more than anything. But he is coming home tomorrow!! I couldn’t be more excited. Beau and I have been staying with my parents while he has been gone. I’m not used to staying alone in our new house so I just decided to stay with them so I didn’t freak myself out being me and the babe alone. Plus staying at my parents means I get to share a bed with Beau and I just love snuggling up to him. Last night he slept on my neck for a few hours! And while it was not the most comfortable for me, I just soaked it up. It’s not very often this boy will give me a cuddle anymore.

I’ve mentioned before how much Beau LOVES books. Being read to is one of his favorite things, and something we do every single day. So when Bookroo reached out we were so excited! sick sick sick

I’ve been non existent on this blog this week. Sickness hit me hard late Saturday night and stayed with me until right about now. I am still in the no energy stage of being sick. My most horrible symptoms are gone but the week body, fuzzy head, and no appetite still remain. It was one of those sicknesses where you just lay there and ache, and occasionally cry, and then feel worse from the crying because it accentuates the headache and the cough, etc. My husband really knows how to swoop in and be a hero because he took Beau and completely took over all mothering duties for 2 straight days. He even took work off on Monday to let me rest. By Tuesday I had to brave it on my own because he really does have to go to work sometime. It is not fun being sick and taking care of a baby, as any mom will tell you. But my boy really is as sweet as they come and he even took a 4 HOUR NAP on Tuesday!!!! So anyhow, now things are working their way back to normal and I’m just grateful to be feeling good again. Just in time for Easter weekend! Happy Friday guys, I hope everyone stays healthy.

I can’t even believe how tall my baby is. He’s been off the charts in every way since birth and not much has changed. Except that the chubby baby-ness is fading away and he’s just like a big tall boy now. He looks even more grown up with these Copper Pearl bibs on. These bibs are the cutest and come in a set of 4.
